About Team Julian
The Team Julian/Courage for Cures Foundation was founded in March 2011 to harness widespread support of one little superhero, 5-year-old Julian Boivin of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., in his battle against a deadly brain stem glioma. Upon losing Julian only seven months after diagnosis, his parents, Nettie and Brad Boivin, grew the foundation to take revenge on this ruthless disease that steals too many children. To date, Team Julian has raised $1 million for research, awareness, clinical trials and patient programs.
Since 2012, we've been a Foundational Partner in the DIPG Collaborative, a community of more than 30 family foundations working together to fund $8 million in 50 research grants in North America, Europe and Australia including outstanding institutions such as Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, Memorial Sloan Kettering, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, Dana-Farber, Duke University, Yale University, Stanford University and more.
Thanks to our generous supporters, we've also been able to direct significant funding to research and patient care at the hospitals that treated Julian: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., and University of Michigan Mott Children's Hospital, and now The Chad Carr Pediatric Brain Tumor Center.

Our Mission
The Julian Boivin Courage for Cures Foundation is a 501(c)(3) that exists to raise awareness and badly needed funds to arm kids with a fighting chance against the deadliest pediatric brain cancers like DIPG. We seek out and support the most progressive partnerships and research dedicated to finding cures for devastating brain tumors like Julian’s brain stem glioma, also known as diffuse intrinsic pontine gliomas (DIPG).
To keep administrative fees to a minimum, Courage for Cures is completely volunteer-based so that your contribution supports those working to find breakthroughs in a field that falls short in attention and funding. Our hope is that we can play even a small role in putting an end to the most unacceptable words a family can receive: “no known cause or cure.”
