About the Foundation
The Team Julian Foundation, dba Julian Boivin Courage for Cures Foundation, was founded in March 2011 by friends of Julian’s family to support one little superhero in his battle against a deadly brain stem glioma. Upon losing Julian after only seven months in the fight, his parents, Nettie and Brad Boivin, grew the foundation to take revenge on a dreadful disease that steals too many children. Since then, Team Julian has raised $750,000 through special events and community support to fund research, clinical trials and patient programs around the world.
The Julian Boivin Courage for Cures Foundation is a 501(c)(3) that exists to raise awareness and badly needed funds to arm kids with a fighting chance against the deadliest pediatric brain cancers like DIPG. We seek out and support the most progressive partnerships and research dedicated to finding cures for devastating brain tumors like Julian’s brain stem glioma, also known as diffuse intrinsic pontine gliomas or DIPG.
To keep administrative fees to a minimum, Courage for Cures is completely volunteer-based so that your contribution supports those working to find breakthroughs in a field that falls short in attention and funding. Our hope is that we can play even a small role in putting an end to the most unacceptable words a family can receive: “no known cause or cure.”
